Blake Lively is pregnant! Taking a page out of Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop playbook, Ryan Reynolds' wife decided to announce her pregnancy by posting an adorable baby bump photo on her lifestyle website, Preserve.
Like Gwyneth Paltrow's "conscious uncoupling" announcement, Lively's baby news was carefully crafted. The article entitled "Preserve Celebrations: Falling for Family" includes beautiful photos of women celebrating fall outside with perfectly decorated tables, adorable onesies hanging from a clothesline and, you guessed it, lots of baby bumps.
Blake Lively's Adorable Baby Bump Photo On PreserveTaking a cue from Gwyneth Paltrow, Blake Lively announced she's pregnant by posting a baby bump photo on her lifestyle website, Preserve. Since Ryan Reynolds and Lively married in September 2012, they haven't been shy about saying they want a large family. How many kids do you think the gorgeous couple will have?
"Preserve at its core is about family," the short article begins. "Family is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on."
"With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all," the intro continues, "to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment: at the creation of family."
Blake Lively and Ryan ReynoldsBlake Lively and Ryan Reynolds met on the set of 'Green Lantern'.
After a few more sentences, the last line in Lively's post says: "Congratulations to all the expecting mothers out there."
We go on to see countless smiling — and pregnant — women. The very last photo is of Ryan Reynolds' wife cradling a growing belly. If you blinked you might even miss the photo. But Lively had a plan. She posted a teaser on Instagram telling her fans that there's big news. "Who can find it first?" she asked.
Blake Lively Announces Pregnancy on Preserve and InstagramBlake Lively teased the baby news on Instagram, telling her fans to check out her website, Preserve, to find out the big news. "Who can find it first?" she asked.
The implication? Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are just like us. She's pregnant like these other women are pregnant. They all feel the same, look the same and are going through the same thing. Of course, the other women may not a full-time nanny or hundreds of shoes. But that's a small detail Lively would prefer fans forget.
Gwyneth Paltrow's "conscious uncoupling" announcement was far from happy news. But Paltrow, Lively and Jessica Alba have tried hard to incorporate their own lives into their lifestyle websites and companies. If we were Martha Stewart we'd be worried too!
Blake Lively and Ryan ReynoldsWas there anyone else at the 'Captives' premiere? It was impossible to focus on anything but Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Channeling Old Hollywood in an optical-illusion strapless by Gucci Premiere, Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a perfectly polished bun, the blond bombshell exceeded our expectations.
Ever since Blake Lively, 27, and Ryan Reynolds, 37, married in a secret wedding in September 2012 we knew a baby wouldn't be far behind. Neither Lively nor Reynolds has been shy about saying they want a large family.
"I gotta get started," Lively told Marie Claire in the September 2014 issue. "If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would."
Reynolds feels the same way. "We'd love to have a big family," Reynolds told Details in the August 2013 issue. "We both come from big families — my parents did four, Blake’s did five. A lot of people say it’s crazy, but we’ll only know when we’re there, you know? We’ll walk through that fire pretty happily, I think."
Blake Lively and Michael KorsChanneling a '60s siren with a headband, big hair, Michael Kors mini and Casadei pumps, Blake Lively didn't quite fit in either at the CFDA Awards at Lincoln Center. Though her legs looked stellar as always, the girly style felt a bit too understated for the evening.
Reynolds' ex-wife Scarlett Johanssen recently gave birth. So we've got to assume that was yet another reason Lively was itching to get started.
Lively is known for being extremely detail-oriented. And we know she will approach pregnancy and motherhood in exactly the same way. "She had pages and pages of pictures. She knew everything that she wanted from the very beginning to the very end," her wedding planner Tara GuĂ©rard told People.
“Work is important," Lively told Lucky in September 2013, "but my greatest passion is my personal life."
